World Holy Name Festival 2026 Sankirtan report
New Vrindaban, Moundsville
In their own words
During World Holy Name Festival 2026, our community participated through both public Harinam and daily kirtan programs at the temple.
Our Sankirtan team, Abhistada Devi Dasi, Karthik Candra Dasa, Pranatakaruna Dasa, and Bhava -saroruham Dasa, brought Harinam to West Virginia University, where we shared the chanting of the Holy Names with students and others on campus. The children from Gopal’s Garden (gurukula school) also joined us, enthusiastically participating in the kirtan and helping distribute books and prasadam. We distributed 300 fresh cookies prasadam along with many books and flyers for our bhakti club. This program is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with the students and share the spirit of devotional service.
Throughout World Holy Name week, regular kirtans were held in front of the temple, led by His Grace Pranatakaruna Dasa. On nearly every day of the week, guests joined the kirtans, with many joyfully participating and dancing in kirtan. The kirtans would generally begin after breakfast and continue after lunch, allowing guests to hear and participate in the chanting while honoring prasadam.
These programs created a joyful atmosphere throughout the festival and gave both our local community and visiting guests many opportunities to participate in the chanting of the Holy Names. Through Harinam, kirtan, prasadam distribution, and the participation of our children, we were grateful to contribute to the worldwide celebration of the Holy Names.
