ISKCON Raichur – Sri Radha Shyamachandra Mandir celebrates World Holy Name Festival 2026

On 21 September 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, the streets of Raichur resonated with the chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra as ISKCON Raichur organised a Nagar Kirtan to celebrate the World Holy Name Festival 2026.

Around 40 participants—including children, youth, Vaishnavis, brahmacaris and members of the public—joined the 2-kilometre procession from Raichur Radio Station to Raichur Railway Station. With mridangas, karatalas and joyful chanting, the devotees carried the Holy Name through the heart of the city, inviting everyone to hear and participate in the chanting.

The Nagar Kirtan became a beautiful expression of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s mission to spread the glories of the Holy Name. Passers-by stopped to watch, listen and join the chanting, making the streets a vibrant centre of Sankirtana.

The programme also included distribution of 250 donnas of kichri prasadam, allowing the celebration of the Holy Name to be accompanied by an offering of Krishna prasadam to the public.

The event was a simple yet meaningful contribution by ISKCON Raichur to the worldwide celebration of the Holy Name—bringing chanting, devotion and prasadam beyond the temple and directly to the people of Raichur.
